Step 1
First of all open Tech Assistant for Blind Application. After this go inside PDF Manipulation Toolbox. Now open the feature by double tapping on Lock / Unlock Password-protect or remove protection option found under ANNOTATE & PROTECT heading.
Step 2
First of all select your PDF with the help of Pick a PDF button. If you want to select another PDF later, use the Change PDF button. After selecting PDF, its File Name, Protection Status and File Size are visible.
Step 3
If you want to put a password on the PDF for the first time, select the Lock PDF tab. After this, enter your password in New password Edit Box, re-enter it in Confirm password Edit Box and tap on Lock PDF Button. If the PDF is already password protected and its password needs to be changed, enter the current password in the Current password edit box in the Lock PDF tab. After this, write the new password in New password Edit Box, re-enter it in Confirm password Edit Box and finally tap on Lock PDF Button.
Step 4
If you want to remove password from PDF, select Unlock PDF tab. After this enter the current password in PDF password Edit Box and tap on Unlock PDF Button.
Step 5
Success message will appear after the process is completed. Along with this, the file name and file size of the new PDF will also be visible. This is where options like Download, Share and Read PDF are available. If you want to save the locked or unlocked PDF in your phone, tap on the Download button. After this the file will be saved in File Manager > Internal Storage > Download > tech-assistant > pdf-protector folder. If you want to read PDF immediately, Read PDF button can be used. Keep in mind that the entire process of locking or unlocking a PDF is completely offline, but the Read PDF option opens the file in the app's in-built PDF Reader, which requires an internet connection.
